Leibinger inkjet printers add energy storage system

Sept. 4, 2024
The IQJet's uninterruptible power supply avoids drying of inks and contamination of print heads during an outage.

IQJet Leibinger’s industrial continuous inkjet (CIJ) printers offer non-contact printing for a variety of materials and industries, including plastics.

What’s new? Inclusion of an integrated energy-storage system for an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) as a standard feature. Previously, when the IQJet launched last year, the UPS was available only as an option. The UPS feature can be retrofitted to existing IQJets.

Benefits Faster restart after a power interruption. Using other machines, processors can suffer setbacks due to power outages, which can stop production. When this happens, the inks in CIJ printers can dry quickly; also, print heads can become contaminated, forcing the need for time-consuming manual cleaning before restarting. However, IQJets with UPS power down fully when power is lost, automatically providing an airtight seal for the nozzle, which ensures that ink does not dry out and protects the print head from contamination. This eliminates the need to clean the printers before restarting them, avoiding the need for additional downtime. The IQJet provides intuitive operation, low operating costs, maximum productivity and 5 years of maintenance-free operation.
