Meusburger expands choices for pre-assembled hot runners, mold bases
By Karen Hanna
Meusberger has expanded the options for plastic materials and nozzle diameter sizes for its pre-assembled runner system and mold base.
Now available with just a few computer keystrokes using Meusburger’s “Configurator” software program, theFH hot-runnersystem and mold base can be ordered with one, two or four nozzles that can handle shot weights ranging from 0.5 gram to 500 grams. Mold makers can add cabling or wiring, or modify it in other ways, to suit specific applications. The recess for a hot-runner system also isalready integrated.
According to the Austria-based mold component specialist, customers already are enjoying the quality and reliability of the FH hot runners and mold bases. Sterk Plast srl, based in Romania, has used the package to produce different-sized lunch boxes. Meusburger said Sterk was able to use the FH package without having to make any adjustments.
The mold bases and hot-runner systems can process all common plastics. Customers can choose from among three hot-runner systems — the IMT1, IMT2 or CMT4 — along with the corresponding mold bases. They also can specify hot-runner systems with integrated recesses for cooling holes.
The packages offer some important advantages, Meusburger said: They are easy to price and order, and can be delivered quickly. With the packages, the company also provides CAD data, including measurements regarding installation and information about installation spaces, if applicable. Upon request, Meusburger hot-runner experts can look at the packages and check them for proper balance; in some cases, this could result in recommendations for changes and thus save time and money before the system is shipped.
