Mold-Masters PET-series now more versatile

Sept. 6, 2024
The two-stage hot-runner system is available in a reduced stack height to fit a wider range of machines.

PET-series Mold-Masters’ PET-series two-stage hot-runner system offers a three-plate design specifically for applications producing PET preforms. It offers consistent high-performance processing capabilities, even during cold startup. The company’s MasterShield technology allows the PET-series to offer improved leakage protection between the nozzle and manifold. The series is compatible with any major brand of PET preform mold and available in a wide range of industry standard configurations.

What’s new? Reduced stack height. While the industry standard for a three-plate design is 300mm, the PET-series hot-runner system is now available with a stack height of 260mm on systems with as many as 72 cavities using standard components.

Benefits The ability to run on a wider range of machines, including older generations, that have stack height limitations. The more-compact system preserves the advantages of a three-plate design. Specifically for PET applications, it helps improve geometric thermal balancing and reduces plate bowing to enhance preform quality.
