Kawasaki CL-series cobots operate at industrial speed
CL-series cobots Kawasaki Robotics’ new cobots have payloads and reaches ranging from 6.6 pounds and 1.9 feet to 22 pounds and 3.3 feet, with higher payloads of as much as 33 pounds expected within the next year. The cobots were developed in partnership with Neura Robotics GmbH, Metzingen, Germany.
What’s new? The cobot line, which was demonstrated performing machine tending at IMTS between Sept. 9-14 in Chicago.
Benefits Industrial-scale performance and speed. The cobots use the same durable casing as Kawasaki Robotics’ industrial robot arms, allowing them to operate without protective covers in crowded and harsh environments not suitable for many other cobots. The CL cobots require only light guidance and precise adjustments by hand to create highly efficient solutions for applications such as machine tending and welding. They operate with an industry-leading speed of 200 degrees per second and a repeatability to within 0.02mm.
