ProRate Plus-MT handles difficult powder additives
ProRate Plus feeders Coperion K-Tron’s ProRate Plus portfolio of feeders was designed as a reliable, economical choice for simple feeding applications in the plastics industry. The feeders offer robust construction and a quick return on investment with fast delivery times. The original product line featured a single-screw feeder configuration.
What’s new? The ProRate Plus-MT, which introduces a twin-screw feeder to improve performance with difficult-to-handle powder additives. Available since April, the new twin-screw versions have throughputs ranging from 1.4 cubic feet to 63.6 cubic feet per hour.
Benefits The MT version is optimized for powder additives such as talc, calcium carbonate or carbon black. Its steep hopper walls keep poorly flowing bulk solids feeding reliably without requiring a vertical agitator, and the twin-screw configuration reduces pulsations and has a self-cleaning effect. The new feeder has a horizontal agitator to ensure both screws are always optimally filled with material. The feeder’s trapezoidal shape means up to six feeders can be easily grouped around an extruder inlet.
