Conair Group has appointed Jared Helfrich as VP of customer care, replacing Brian Dowler, who is now VP of service for Piovan, Conair’s parent company.
Helfrich will direct Conair’s existing parts, service and repair organization, as well as its new range of customer services.
“Our goal is to expand our ongoing relationship with the customer after equipment is installed,” Helfrich said, adding that “instead of reacting to customer problems, we are moving to provide proactive services that eliminate unexpected downtime, improve asset performance and extend asset life.”
Conair introduced two new service products earlier this year: machine health assessments, which are on-site inspection and evaluations of auxiliary equipment followed by maintenance recommendations and parts discounts; and service agreements, which provide similar assessments on a scheduled basis.
“Both of these new services enable Conair professionals to function as an extension of the customer’s own team, offering specialized expertise, recommendations and hands-on training,” Helfrich said. “We can tell the customer precisely what’s going on with their equipment, what’s needed to make it right and how to keep things operating smoothly in the future.”
Helfrich was most recently VP for the global aftermarket at Desktop Metal, a maker of 3-D printing systems, and previously was VP for business development at ExOne, a manufacturer of 3D sand- and metal-printing equipment.
The Conair Group, based in Cranberry Township, Pa., manufactures plastics auxiliary equipment and systems.
