AX8820 regenerative energy unit This universal unit from Beckhoff can be used on a wide variety of machines to feed power back into the grid. Regenerated energy is initially stored in the DC link, then fed back to the grid just before the overvoltage threshold of the connected device is reached. It is compatible with Beckhoff’s AX8000 multi-axis servo system, AX5000 digital compact servo drives and third-party devices.
What’s new? The AX8820, which uses sinusoidal regeneration to prevent network distortions common with block-shaped regeneration systems.
Benefits Reduction of wasted electricity and improved sustainability. Several AX8820 units can work in parallel to optimally adapt the regenerative power to the needs of the machine. The unit generates a database to optimize long-term machine efficiency. No communication via EtherCAT is required to carry out regeneration.
