Maguire has upgraded its controls, by integrating its FlexBus Lite software into the touch screens of its Ultra dryers

The user-friendly, icon-based software offers features typically found only on larger central system controls.

With the software, operators have complete control over one vacuum pump and up to 10 materials receivers. Users can easily adjust pump and receiver settings, as well as onloading and offloading functions, without having to adjust equipment located above the plant floor. They can see in real time on the screen whether a receiver is receiving, discharging or calling for material.

“With the dryer, vacuum chamber and material retention hopper on load cells, you are able to completely regulate the drying rate to the process rate. This allows the operator to program a shutdown to any specific day and time,” said Frank Kavanagh, VP of sales and marketing. “The control system then monitors the rate so that the loader will stop calling for material and the dryer will be empty. With the control system monitoring the rate, this makes material changes even easier.”

The control system can work with any Maguire product or third-party system.
