Coperion feeders enhance dosing accuracy

Feb. 1, 2020
New shock absorber technology improves feeding accuracy in handling dry bulk solids, including friable and abrasive materials.

K3 Coperion K-Tron’s K3 loss-in-weight vibratory feeders are designed to gently handle dry bulk solids, including friable and abrasive materials. Two models are available: the V100 for feed rates of 0.03 to 17.7 cubic feet per hour and the V200 for feed rates of 0.28 to 141 cubic feet per hour.

What’s new? The product line, and the design of its shock absorbers. Instead of conventional rubber or spring shock absorbers, K3 feeders use a flexible pendulum shock absorber, which eliminates rotational movement of the drive. The feeders also feature a patent-pending drive system and a new control package. The product line, which replaces the company’s K2-KV feeders, debuted at K 2019.

Benefits Continuous, even mass flow along the entire length of the feeder tray, thanks to the new shock absorber technology. On average, feeding accuracy is 35 percent better than traditional vibratory feeder technologies, the company said. Additionally, material changeovers are fast, reducing product waste and machine downtime.
