Elgi EQ compressors add horsepower

March 25, 2025
The rotary screw compressors are efficient and designed to withstand harsh environments.

EQ The oil-lubricated, direct-drive rotary screw air compressors in this Elgi series are appropriate for small and medium-sized operations that traditionally use belt-driven air compressors. They can perform efficiently in dusty and humid conditions with ambient temperatures of up to 122 degrees Fahrenheit. Elgi’s Total Enclosed Fan Cooled (TEFC) motor ensures protection in harsh environments, and pre-filter enclosure cooling air inlets prevent contamination from dust. Units with discharge pressures of 100 pounds per square inch (psi), 125 psi and 150 psi are available. An optional Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) adapts motor speed to match air demand, minimizing electrical consumption.

What’s new? Availability of higher-horsepower (hp) units. With new models ranging from 40 hp to 60 hp, the series now offers units with power ranging from 25 hp to 60 hp, with both fixed and variable-speed configurations.

Benefits Greater efficiency and reliability for high-capacity applications. Because units in the series have no belts, they are more efficient and provide optimal air flow, while requiring less maintenance. According to Elgi, the minimum time between service is 4,000 hours.
