Operators can program a recipe formulation, and the PLC will automatically adjust blade speed, position and runtime.

HSD-15 High-speed dispersers from Charles Ross & Son are designed to mix powders into liquids and break down particle agglomerates to generate fine stable dispersions to produce batters, thin pastes and slurries. The HSD-15 is routinely used for dispersing fillers, pigments and additives into liquid plastic resins. Its 12-inch disperser blade reaches speeds up to 1,590 rpm to create a vortex that dry ingredients can be poured into for fast wetting. It has a 150-gallon stainless steel mix vessel, a 7-inch HMI display, and safety limit switches that prevent operation of the mixer while in the raised position or without the mix vessel in place.

What’s new? The custom recipe control system. With it, operators can program a recipe formulation, and the PLC will automatically adjust blade speed, position and runtime, taking into account batch level changes as more raw materials are added.

Benefits Consistent product quality and increased process efficiency. The HSD-15 also offers improved operator safety and cleanliness by containing dusts and vapors with its telescoping cover, which offers protection while different batch sizes are mixed.
