PCS adds Kistler sensors, cables

Cavity pressure sensor heads and coaxial cables offer control and optimize production.

PCS Co., Frasier, Mich., which offers solutions and products for plastic injection molding, mold making and die casting, has added Kistler Cavity Pressure Sensor Heads and Coaxial Connecting Cables to its line of mold components.

The piezoelectric cavity pressure sensor heads are designed to assist with identifying molding issues such as short shots, sinks, flash and warp.

PCS Company is offering two styles of Kistler’s pressure sensor heads. The 9204B measures static and quasi-static pressure curves up to 3,000 bar, and up to 392 degrees Fahrenheit operating temperature. The 9211B offers high resolution capability with extremely small dimensions, just 6mm in diameter, for tight spaces and small mold cavities where forces are elevated.

Both can be retrofitted to existing molds and are compatible with RJG piezoelectric sensors.

Because only low-noise coaxial cables that produce very little triboelectricity during movement may be used, PCS offers the Kistler 1645C Coaxial Connection Cables for M4 connections. Constructed of stainless steel, the cables are sealed and resistant to dirt while providing measurement reliability and accuracy versus galvanized connectors.
