CAM Assist CloudNC’s software plug-in for CAD/CAM software uses artificial assist (AI) to generate machining strategies for three-axis and 3+2-axis CNC machines. CAM Assist automates computer-aided machining programming steps, providing users a way to quickly go from a 3D model to a finished part. Once users upload a model, CAM Assist applies advanced computational optimization and AI inference techniques to draft codes to set the toolpath, toolset and cutting speeds to optimize machining.
What’s new? Availability for use with Mastercam, which provides advanced CAD/CAM software for manufacturing.
Benefits Expanded reach. Compatibility with Mastercam, which makes CAM Assist — which has been available for use with Autodesk’s Fusion 360 — available to more users. CAM Assist can help to upskill less-experienced employees, allowing them to more quickly program parts. The company said CAM Assist also can increase machine uptime, slash lead times and improve process stability.
