LR 5 This top-entry, five-axis robot from Dr. Boy GmbH & Co. KG, Neustadt-Fernthal, Germany, is designed to remove parts from an injection mold or insert semi-finished parts into a mold. The linear robot can handle a maximum load of 11 pounds and has a position accuracy to within 0.1mm.
What’s new? Longitudinal mounting. Instead of the typical transverse mounting, the robot now can be mounted lengthwise on Boy injection molding machines models 35 E through 125 E. Exhibited at K 2019, the new configuration option will be available next month.
Benefits Space savings. Mounting the robot lengthwise can save as much as 53.8 square feet of space on the production floor due to the decreased need for guarding around the robot and any associated conveyor belt.
