Electric The injection molding machines (IMMs) in this Boy series have electromechanical injection, dosing and ejector drives, as well as a small hydraulic tank, so they can be classified as electrics, but not as all-electrics. Clamping forces of the compact, two-platen servo-hydraulic machines in the series range from about 39 tons to 90 tons.
What’s new? The IMMs, which debuted at Fakuma in October.
Benefits Accuracy, precision and efficiency. The IMMs offer the option of actively braking the screw movement, allowing them to recover energy for subsequent movements. Their hybrid design allows the IMMs to perform in-tool core pull without the need for a separate hydraulic unit. Also, the Electrics are quiet, compact and accessible, with drive and inverter technology integrated in the smallest possible space.
