M-1000iA Fanuc’s M-1000iA fully articulated industrial robot has a 2,205-pound payload capacity, a 10.7-foot horizontal reach and a 14.1-foot vertical reach. It is targeted at manufacturers that handle very large, heavy parts. Incorporating the company’s R-30iB Plus Controller, it has integrated features such as force sensing and Fanuc’s iRVision visual-detection system.
What’s new? The robot, which is the largest one the company makes that has serial-link construction to provide a wide range of motion in every direction. The robot can extend its arm upright or rotate it backward, which is not possible for typical heavy-payload robots that employ a parallel-link mechanism. Fanuc began shipping the M-1000iA in the first quarter.
Benefits Versatility. The wider range of motion allows the robot to perform a wide range of handling tasks. Additionally, its clean design uses internal cables to minimize interference with peripheral devices.
