Tempro plus D120 Wittmann Battenfeld’s latest mold temperature controller is a directly cooled, pressurized model that comes in single- and dual-circuit versions. It has a direct cooling capacity of 80 kilowatts (kW) and a standard heating capacity of 9 kW; 12 kW and 16 kW heating capacities also are available. The controller features stainless-steel pumps with wear-free magnetic couplings, providing a maximum flow rate of 24 gallons per minute. Users also can choose a frequency-controlled pump that allows them to choose whether the process is controlled by motor speed, pressure or flow rate. A Wittmann 4.0 interface is standard, and a range of optional equipment is available.
What’s new? The Tempro plus D120, which is the company’s first directly cooled temperature controller available with dual circuits.
Benefits Cost savings and a compact size. A unit with two circuits takes up much less space beside the injection molding machine than two units with one circuit each, and costs about 30 percent less. The direct cooling capability translates into both a high cooling capacity and a high heating capacity. This makes the Tempro plus D120 good for use with big molds, such as those used to produce automotive bumpers; even with heavy shot weights, quick cooling is possible.
