Shibaura Machine Co. America, Elk Grove Village, Ill., announced that company VP Thomas McKevitt died peacefully on Dec. 12, surrounded by his family. He was 60.
McKevitt first joined the company in 2002, over the years serving as a national sales manager and as GM of the injection molding division.
He led the company’s strategy, business development and operations for its injection molding division in the role of VP, served on its executive leadership team, and was a mentor for numerous employees.
According to a company statement, “Tom’s dedication to Shibaura Machine Company America and knowledge of the industry is one of the reasons for our company’s success.”
He is survived by his wife, Joanne, and his children, Thomas, Michael and Patrick.
Shibaura manufactures injection molding machines and CNC machine tools, as well as other machinery.
