Mahr measurement system now more accessible

Nov. 2, 2021
USB and Bluetooth open up the MarSurf M 310's ability to link to a PC and a hand-held scanner.

MarSurf M 310 Mahr Inc.’s MarSurf M 310 mobile surface measurement system makes it easy for even inexperienced users to measure the surface roughness of both large and small workpieces in applications such as quality control for medical products. It features a 4.3-inch high-resolution touchscreen

What’s new? Easier connectivity. Operators can now connect to a PC to use Mahr’s MarWin Easy Roughness Mobile software to expand the M 310’s capabilities, and to a hand-held scanner to read barcodes and QR codes. The connections are available via a simple USB or Bluetooth adapter, rather than the interface boxes that were previously necessary.

Benefits Increased functionality. With the MarWin software, users can now access operating instructions with photos between measurements, start program sequences via function keys and define X and Z directions in the profile field. By attaching the device to a scanner, operators can scan a code to automatically call up a profile and start a measuring program, as well as avoid errors that can come from manual data input. Its simple connection options cut implementation costs in half. With an optional printer and other interfaces, users can easily document measurement results in accordance with the IATF 16949 standard.
