Injection molding machine manufacturer Stork Plastics Machinery BV, Hengelo, Netherlands, is now offering used machines for sale as part of its Second Life program.

Stork offers what it calls its Premium used machines, which cost about half the price of a new machine. They are trade-ins that undergo an approximately 10-week process that includes complete disassembly of the clamping unit, overhaul or replacement of its parts, testing and repair. The machines are retrofitted with the newest touchscreen controls, critical parts including hydraulic hoses and accumulators are replaced, and the machines are painted.

Stork will run a factory acceptance test using the customer’s mold, and guarantees that it can service its Premium used machine for up to 10 years after delivery.
