BuildIT Projector 2019 Faro Technologies’ updated software works with its TracerSI, TracerM and LPT8 laser projector products to provide templates and in-process verification for tasks such as welding, assembly and composite layup. It has two components — the Planner is used by engineers to set up laser templates, sequencing, part placement and verification, while Operator is the software used by assemblers.

What’s new? This version, which was released at the end of February. The software can generate reports on tasks completed and the results of in-process verification. It can also detect when the base part has been moved and automatically realign the laser projector.

Benefits Consistent and accurate assembly. The software guides the laser projector to indicate the exact location for part placement, and orders the steps of assembly. A joystick controller makes setup and operation easier. With the TracerSI, capabilities include using holes and corners for feature-based alignment, and the ability to locate foreign debris, such as tools and unused parts.
