Teledyne Nano camera features polarizing filter

Feb. 5, 2019

Genie Nano M2450 Polarized Machine vision technology firm Teledyne DALSA’s newest Genie Nano camera uses nanowire to create a polarizing filter structure with a repeating grid of four different orientations. Each pixel captures only one of these orientations. With the camera, users can detect physical properties that conventional imaging cannot pick up.

What’s new? This unique polarization method — an industry first.

Benefits Improved detection. The Genie Nano M2450 Polarized can detect surface roughness and stress points, as well as reduce glare from transparent objects and enhance the level of details visible on dark objects in low-contrast settings. Earlier approaches were more complex and 10 to 20 times the cost of this camera.
