Toyo introduces its largest SI-6 electric injection press

Toyo Machinery & Metal Co. Ltd. has expanded its Si-6 series with the introduction of this fully electric injection molding machine.

Si-1450-6 Toyo Machinery & Metal Co. Ltd., Akashi, Japan, has expanded its Si-6 series with the introduction of this fully electric injection molding machine. It has a clamping force of about 1,450 tons, or about 1,300 metric tons, which is reflected in its European model name, shown on the model above. Available in two versions, with screw diameters of 110mm and 120mm, the machine features V-Clamp mold clamping technology to provide uniform pressure over the mold. The ejection stroke – 450mm – is the longest in the Si-6 series, allowing for molding of deep products such as containers and cases. The model also features a 15-inch touch screen control and Wi-Fi connectivity. In the U.S., Toyo is represented by Maruka.

Benefits Ability to handle bigger-tonnage applications. In addition to its size, the Si-1450-6 boasts upgrades that improve mold protection and give operators more flexibility for analyzing mold condition. They include enhancements to Toyo's HSP, or High Sensitive Protection, system, which has been upgraded so that cycle times can be shortened without the risk of damaging the mold.
