Editorial contributions

PMM welcomes original, bylined contributed articles for publication, provided the material is non-commercial and first run.

Some guidelines:

  • The piece should be educational, informational and/or analytical. While it can mention a product or a company in context, it cannot be simply a sales pitch.
  • Our staff will review and edit the article, and we may ask questions or suggest changes so it conforms to our editorial standards.
  • The piece must be original to PMM, or at least cannot be provided to other publications that primarily cover the plastics industry.
  • While AI can be used for assistance such as transcription, research or organization, the article must be created and fact-checked by humans.
  • No specific length is required, but we have found that 1,200 to 1,800 words works well.
  • Images or photos are appreciated. Resolution of at least 350dpi at 3x5 inches is required for print reproduction. Please provide caption information and credits. If images are from a stock photo provider, we’ll need documentation that you have the rights to distribute them for publication by a third party, or a link to the source so we can download them under our license.
  • Please provide a short (two sentences or so) professional bio and head shot of the author.
  • We will provide a standard contributor agreement that gives us permission to publish the story and use any visuals, with exclusivity for 90 days.

For consideration, please send a brief abstract to Lynne Sherwin.
