LS Mtron goes big with 1,500-ton press

Aug. 7, 2024
It's the largest in the company's LSG-E line of fully electric injection molding machines.

LSG-E LS Mtron’s fully electric LSG-E line of IMMs offers models ranging from 35 tons to 950 tons of clamping force. At NPE, LS Mtron displayed an LSG 240E producing taste test cups with a cup holder to complete the set. The LSG-E models feature a high-stiffness platen with optimized five-point toggle design for high-speed clamping and high-intensity injection.

What’s new? A larger 1,500-ton model, which will be introduced later this year.

Benefits Improved production of larger, high-precision parts. The LSG-E presses offer a 13 percent to 27 percent increase in injection volume, and an injection speed of about 11.8 inches per second. They have rigid clamping and injection units and dual-cylinder nozzle touch force to maintain platen parallelism and avoid resin leaks. Machines in the 90- to 440-ton range also offer extended tie-bar distance for minimized platen distortion, as well as the option of extended daylight.
