Series 800 Guill’s extrusion tooling for two to six layers is appropriate for tubing with outer diameters ranging from 0.125 to 6 inches for automotive, medical, appliance and industrial applications. It works with fluoropolymer and other materials for all multi-layer, multi-lumen medical tubing, as well as fuel line constructions, multi-layer, crosslinked PE (PEX) pipe and drip irrigation applications, among others.
What’s new? A more user-friendly cam-lock available as standard for Guill’s crossheads, including devices in this series, that is especially beneficial with applications that require more-complex crossheads.
Benefits The ability to produce high-quality tubing with thin layer combinations of polymers and adhesives down to 0.02mm or less. Also, according to the company, its newly standard cam-lock design is easier to use, and saves significant amounts of time for cleaning and changeovers. It allows quick and easy assembly and disassembly of the crosshead and eliminates the need for socket head caps screws. By removing and replacing the internals, a different profile can be extruded in minutes rather than hours. There’s also much less chance of the kinds of misalignment issues associated with mechanisms that have socket set screws. The cam-lock requires only a half turn to remove and install the deflector tip, and requires no fastening hardware.
