Aug. 2, 2024
It offers insights into pelletizer and bath operations with quick adjustments to process parameters.

Smart Control Bay Plastics Machinery’s Industry 4.0 smart pelletizing system stores end-to-end process parameters, including line and rotor speed and pellet length; activity logs, including logins and emergency stops; and even maintenance training videos. The Smart Control is an option for all of BPM’s strand pelletizers and pelletizing systems. It also can be retrofit onto some existing BPM equipment.

What’s new? The Smart Control, which was introduced at NPE, where it was demonstrated on BPM’s AXP08 pelletizer and water bath system.

Benefits Detailed insights into pelletizer and bath operations, and quick and automatic adjustment of process parameters. All relevant documentation referring to machine maintenance and troubleshooting, including training videos and drawings, is stored on the machine. Another key component of the system is the camera caliper tool, which provides throughput estimates in pounds per minute. Air knife process data is measured to control cubic feet per minute per strand and monitor vacuum levels to indicate when filters must be changed. The information can be accessed through a tablet and the large control screen.
