Processing Technologies International LLC (PTi), has broken ground on a $10 million plant expansion at its Aurora, Ill., headquarters.
The construction work, which began last month, is expected to be completed by November. It will add 40,000 square feet of primary manufacturing and office space, and increase plant capacity by about 50 percent.
"Our business has hit record levels the last several years and our products are being well-received throughout the packaging markets in North America," said President Dana Hanson, who attributed the recent success, in part, to the popularity of PTI's dryer-less PET systems.
The new space will feature a dedicated feed-screw testing and development center along with an expansion of the PET extrusion demonstration center. The company, which currently employs more than 80 people, plans to fill about 40 new jobs.
