Ewikon standardizers micro-manifold unit

Nov. 14, 2016
Ewikon's new technology is intended to be used when high cavitation is needed.

Micro-manifold Intended for the medical and closure markets where high cavitation is needed, Ewikon Heisskanalsysteme's new technology consists of clusters of four micro-manifolds, which are available in three versions with different lengths of the rigid part of the electrical connection. Complete hot halves with micro-manifolds for 16 to 192 drops are available. Hot halves are also available with an integrated cooling supply, with transition bores to the contour plate or contour inserts. Each drop in the main level of the manifold feeds a balanced micro-manifold on a different level. Micro-manifolds have four heat-conductive tip inserts with flow channel diameters of 3mm and a melt seal at the gate.

What's new? The technology. Ewikon previously built several versions to individual customer specifications and now has created a standardized version for the general marketplace.

Benefits Safety and convenience. The end of the rigid section of the cable remains outside of the hot zone at all times, eliminating the risk of cables being damaged by heat. The optional cooling supply facilitates integration of the cavity-cooling layout for the user. Tip inserts can be changed without dismantling the manifold, and the overall compact design reduces total flow length and pressure drops.
