Speedformer KTR 6.2 Kiefel’s new Speedformer KTR 6.2 is designed for the mass production of high-end thermoformed polymer cups. In the U.S., Brueckner represents Kiefel.
What’s new? The KTR 6.2, which will be available this summer. Kiefel said the machine offers a range of enhancements compared to its predecessor, the KTR 6.1.
Benefits Higher punching force, increased forming area and higher throughput compared with the similar-sized KTR 6.1. The KTR 6.2’s output of cups and coffee capsules is more than 30 percent higher than the KTR 6.1. It has optimized distribution of cooling water, with an increased flow rate that dissipates heat energy more quickly, allowing the product to be demolded more quickly, reducing wear on the tools and improving product quality. It also features a more powerful drive system at the trim-in-place station, allowing it to process a wider variety of materials, from traditional, bio-based or recycled polymer materials, such as PP, polylactic acid, PS, PE and recycled PET, to thicker materials like PET, which require higher punching force during the production. It also lets users produce taller cups.
