Balluff's new BML SL1 absolute magnetic linear encoder system can monitor machine movements, such as injector position or mold open/close position in an injection molding machine.

BML SL1 Balluff's new absolute magnetic linear encoder system uses IO-Link to take measurements, allowing it to monitor machine movements, such as injector position or mold open/close position in an injection molding machine. The system consists of a sensor head and absolute-coded magnet; other accessories are available as options. It can be either installed by a machine builder or added as a retrofit to a machine by a user.

What's new? The system, available in a variety of configurations. The BML06FU is shown.

Benefits Absolute precision measurement. The device can measure movements as long as about 26 feet, to a precision of within 1 micron.
