MP 1200 Tinius Olsen has upgraded its MP 1200 line of melt indexers. The devices feature a 7.1-inch LCD color touch screen, three-zone band heater, quick die release, USB connectivity and powerful data analysis and control software. The maximum operating temperature is 842 degrees Fahrenheit.
What's new? A selectable weight system that is now standard on all new MP 1200 units and that can be retrofitted on existing devices. Now the device determines the melt-mass flow rate (MFR) and melt-volume flow rate (MVR) of thermoplastic materials without the need to manually load and unload the test weight from the piston.
Benefits Worker safety. Eliminating manual loading of the test weights, which can weigh up to 47.6 pounds, makes the process more efficient and ergonomic. Also, the weight cylinder and table swing out of the way for easy cleaning of the furnace.
