New Emerson level detector can perform self-checks

Emerson's new vibrating fork level detector can measure the levels of liquids and signals alarms when it detects out-of-parameter levels.

Rosemount 2014 Emerson's new vibrating fork level detector can measure the levels of liquids, such as resins or additives, and signals alarms when it detects out-of-parameter levels. It employs the Hart communication protocol, a global standard for sending and receiving digital information across analog wires between smart devices and control and monitoring systems.

What's new? The detector, which came out earlier this year. It features the new Smart Diagnostics Suite, which performs self-checks on the device's health and signals alerts for potential issues, such as corrosion.
