Barrel stacks Graco's new barrel stacks are for use in conjunction with the company's F4-5 and F4-55 two-component metering and dispensing equipment for liquid silicone rubber injection molding. They feature plastic cartridge mixers and come in two versions: a multi-pass version that can be configured with 6, 12, 18, 24 or 30 mixing elements; and a single-pass type (shown) that supports up to 12 mixing elements.
What's new? The devices, which feature design improvements over prior models. For example, the regulator has fewer bolts for easier disassembly and cleaning, and flow passages through its manifold are 225 percent larger, which reduces pressure drops.
Benefits Faster and easier cleaning. Because the machines' connecting components use straight threads rather than tapered ones, material is kept out, which reduces stress on the threads and prevents them from seizing up. The plastic cartridge mixers can be cleaned or thrown away. Overall, the design improvements can reduce cleaning time by 50 percent, compared to prior Graco products.
