MTI C tecPRO The latest batch mixing system from MTI Mischtechnik International GmbH consists of a customized six-axis robot from Kuka and interchangeable containers with lids that feature integrated mixing shafts. The mixing tools for the fully automatic system can be configured for each batch, with batch sizes ranging from 26 to 158 gallons. The Detmold, Germany-based company developed the mixer especially for customers who need to mix many different products or colors, such as makers of masterbatch, color blends and custom compounds. MTI is represented in the U.S. by Greiner Extrusion.

What's new? The mixer, which was introduced at the K show in October.

Benefits Dramatically reduced downtime. In conventional batch mixers, the mixing head is permanently fixed in the machine and needs to be cleaned every time there is a product change. With the MTI C tecPRO, the machine itself never comes into contact with the product. The containers are completely closed systems that can be quickly swapped out, allowing for a significant increase in the number of batches possible per hour.
