Comau Racer robots gain more options

Comau has expanded its line of lightweight, high-speed, six-axis articulated robots, designed for use in restricted spaces.

Racer5-0.63 & Racer5-0.80 Comau has expanded its Racer line of lightweight, high-speed, six-axis articulated robots, which are designed for use in restricted spaces. Applications include assembly, handling and pick-and-place operations. The robots are controlled by an R1C 19-inch rack-mounted controller, and also are available in an openRobotics version in which the robot is integrated into existing machine automation from B&R Industrial Automation.

What's new? Different options for horizontal reaches. Both new models have payloads of 11 pounds; Racer5-0.63 (shown) has a reach of about 25 inches and Racer5-0.80 has a reach of about 32 inches. Comau introduced the robots in June.
