ERF 500 This is the newest and highest capacity model in the ERF series continuous melt filtration systems, which Ettlinger designed for extruders that process heavily contaminated feedstock. The ERF 500 shares the design of well-proven smaller models. The ERF's central component is a cylindrical servo-driven rotating filter screen with millions of conical holes; as it slowly rotates, it's cleaned by a scraper and the particles are continuously fed to an exit screw.
What's new? An increase in the top rate from 4,400 pounds an hour to more than 11,000 pounds an hour. The compact EFR 500 can handle contamination amounts of up to 18 percent by weight.
Benefits In automatic mode, melt losses are minimal. Since the ERF's screen stays open continuously, processing is reliable and stable, and melt pressure downstream of the filter stays constant, as does throughput level. Melt pressure consistency supports long life for the filter drum.
