Purge cost calculator: Molders now can use an online tool to calculate purge costs in terms of machine downtime per purge, amount of purging compound used, cost per pound of purging compound, amount of resin used during purge, the cost per pound of resin used to purge and a processor's average cost to purge per machine.

BENEFITS The ability to know the true cost of purging and being able to compare current purge processing to other purge procedures. It evaluates the molder's machine rate per hour, including operator and profit margin. Users also can see the average machine-hour rates by region and see how they compare with others in their field.
