BRITAS AUTOMATIC BAND MELT FILTER This automatic screen changer for melt filtration, from Next Generation Recyclingmaschinen GmbH, can filter heavily contaminated PE or PP melts. At each automatic screen change, the ABMF completely renews the area of filtration.
WHAT'S NEW? NGR is selling the Britas filter in the U.S. for the first time (since buying German filtration systems maker Britas Recycling-Anlagen GmbH in 2013). Last December, Austria-based NGR installed an ABMF in its Norcross, Ga., site to do trials for potential customers.
BENEFITS Operating costs of less than 6 cents per pound, due to the low-cost of the filtration band and a melt spill of only 0.002. Also, the band cleans the melt to 70 micrometers, for high-quality pellets.
