W8 pro series robots  This line of integrated robots for injection molding from Wittmann Battenfeld  is adding new models that will make their North American debut at the show. The W8 pro robots feature rugged, modular design, greater stiffness of the axis, and the firm's R8.3 control system. The first model, W833, was introduced at K 2013.

What's new?  The sizes. During NPE, Wittmann Battenfeld will show the new W832, with a horizontal stroke of 5,000mm and vertical stroke of 1,600mm, and the W843, with a 6,000mm horizontal stroke and 2,600 vertical stroke. Both models handle loads of up to 77 pounds, depending on length and number of axes as well as supplementary equipment. Product features include an ambient LED indicator for operating modes, integrated connection technology for vacuum and gripper circuits, an optimized cable chain and integrated control cabinet.

Benefits  Greater energy efficiency, with typical savings of 20 percent, a reduction in noise, and minimized space requirements for controls.
