Label scraper offers added flexibility

Oct. 27, 2016

Label Scraper Designed for recycling operations, this upgraded machine from STF Group, Aicha vorm Wald, Germany, uses friction to remove labels and dirt from PET bottles. The system has knives on a rotating drum and fixed elements in exchangeable housing components. These elements can be accessed by removing the outer housing cover and adjusted for different bottle sizes. The crushed labels and dirt are discharged from the machine, together with the bottles, and removed from the material stream before a separator. In the U.S., Zimmer America Recycling Solutions (ZARS) is the exclusive distributor for STF.

What's new? The recent addition of adjustable stator knives for greater flexibility.

Benefits Efficient removal of labels from different bottle sizes. ZARS says the scraper removes 95 percent of all labels from PET bottles.
