ZenRobotics' robotic waste-sorting system, also known as the ZRR, can make as many as 2,000 picks an hour.

ZenRobotics Recycler ZenRobotics' robotic waste-sorting system, also known as the ZRR, can handle rigid plastics, cardboard, various grades of wood, and a range of minerals, making up to 2,000 picks an hour. Using artificial intelligence, it can even be programmed to sort specific objects like tube, pipes and plastic bags. In the U.S., Plexus Recycling Technologies distributes the system.

What's new? The system, which made its U.S. debut in June at the WasteExpo. Originally, it was available only in Europe.

Benefits Greater efficiency in sorting waste, leading to greater profitability from recycling. With the robotic system, plants can operate around the clock, while at the same time maintaining or even reducing labor costs.
