3DChimera expands FreeScan Combo line

March 3, 2025
The Combo+ has a faster scan speed and more laser lines for accurate scanning of parts.

FreeScan Combo Combining blue laser and infrared vertical cavity surface-emitting laser-light technologies, this portable handheld scanner from 3DChimera can scan large areas, as well as dark, shiny or reflective surfaces. It is ideal for metrology, part inspection, quality control and reverse engineering.

What’s new? The addition of the FreeScan Combo+ to 3DChimera’s portfolio of metrology-grade scanners. Compared with the FreeScan Combo, the FreeScan Combo+ has a faster scan speed — up to 3.6 million points per second vs. 1.86 million points per second. Also, the FreeScan Combo+ version offers up to 50 laser lines for scanning, while the Combo uses just 26.

Benefits Accurate, economical scanning of a variety of parts created by either mold makers or plastics processors.
