Polymer Resources launches sustainable engineering resin line

May 7, 2024
Three PC resins and a PC/ABS blend are available, with flame-retardant products to come.

Sustainable PC resins Polymer Resources has launched a sustainable materials portfolio of high-quality engineering resins composed of at least 50 percent recycled content.

What’s new? Four general-purpose grades of new materials: a low-flow PC resin, PC-GP1S; a medium-flow PC resin, PC-GP2S; a high-flow PC resin, PC-GP3S; and a PC/ABS blend, PC/ABS-GP1S. All the new resins are opaque and available in natural, black or custom colors. Within the next few months, the company plans to expand the portfolio to include several flame-retardant products.

Benefits Reduced environmental impact. The properties and processing parameters of the new grades are similar to their virgin counterparts, making it possible, in many cases, to use these sustainable resins as drop-in replacements for existing fossil-based resins but with a lower carbon footprint.
