StarGate HRS offers precise control of injection

The hot-runner techology from Oerlikon HRSflow is also easier to maintain and shortens cycle times.

StarGate HRS This Oerlikon hot-runner technology is designed for use with PP, PE, PS and other amorphous thermoplastics. It has a pin-less design, which allows for a smaller nozzle size and mold pocket compared to standard valve gate systems. The flow rate is managed through a diaphragmatic design and movement, which optimizes cooling performance and cuts cycle times.

What’s new? The hot-runner technology, which Oerlikon demonstrated at the K show in a work cell producing buckets.

Benefits Precise control of melt injection into the mold cavity, and short filling and packing times. Also, according to Oerlikon, compared with conventional hot-runner alternatives, the StarGate is easier to maintain and facilitates shorter cycle times, easier color changes and power-consumption reductions. Additionally, the thickness of the back plates can be reduced.
