Jetstream Tooling Seco has enhanced more of its machining center tool holders with internal coolant channels.
What’s new? Redesigned versions of the MDT (multi-directional turning), X4 (grooving and parting-off) and 150.10 (parting-off) tool holders. They incorporate Seco’s Jetstream internal cooling channels, which direct coolant between the cutting zone and the chip on workpieces. The company introduced the tool holders to the U.S. in September.
Benefits Precise placement of coolant. External coolant nozzles sometimes move, decreasing their efficiency. Jetstream’s precise coolant streams can help lift and break off the chip as it forms. This can boost metal removal rates and increase tool life by as much as 25 percent. The technology also decreases an operator’s need to deal with chip evacuation.
