ACP-Turnado This new lifting point from RUD Ketten Rieger & Dietz GmbH can be affixed to injection molds and other heavy items to provide an interface with lifting equipment. The ACP-Turnado comes in several sizes and features wear indicators that make it easy to determine whether it is safe to use. The Caldwell Group is the exclusive U.S. distributor for the Aalen, Germany, company.
What’s new? Numerous features. The lifting point’s special spring mechanism ensures that it always turns immediately in the correct direction when raising the load. The hoist ring has been strengthened in the areas that experience the most stress and has an optimized shape. The lifting point’s bolt is made from steel developed especially for the application that combines maximum strength with very high ductility. An embedded radio-frequency-identification transponder allows personnel to capture a unique 16-character ID number for documenting safety inspections.
Benefits Safe lifting of heavy loads. With conventional lifting points, the ring sometimes stays in the upright position when lifting begins, which can lead to high shear stresses and bending movements that may damage or break the lifting point. Also, with conventional products, the ring can move suddenly out of the upright position, causing the load to drop and potentially damaging lifting equipment. The ACP-Turnado’s spring mechanism always moves the bracket in the correct direction for optimal force transfer, preventing intense shearing forces and sudden drops in the load.
