F5 Pro 6 Makino’s next-generation vertical milling machine has been designed to produce the complex 3-D geometries found in molds.

What’s new? The milling machine, which debuted in May as an update to Makino’s F5, which was introduced in 2010. The new milling machine has been upgraded with the Makino Professional 6 Control, which streamlines operations and offers online manuals to assist the operator, and the improved Super Geometric Intelligence (SGI.5) software.

Benefits Improved precision. The milling machine decreases heat buildup with its revamped, 400-volt platform that requires less current and its core-cooled ball screws. These also lead to shorter warm-up cycles and longer component life. Maintenance is simplified with a layout that keeps all routine service items in one location, and an optional tool magazine boosts capacity from 30 to 60 tools.
