CNC, Siemens create post processor to optimize mill work

Post processor CNC Software Inc., the maker of Mastercam CAD/CAM software, worked with Siemens engineers to develop its new post processor, which takes the output of Mastercam software and optimizes it for the mill being used. Users of Mastercam 2018 and Mastercam 2019 software can download the update directly from the Mastercam Tech Exchange online portal.

What’s new? The post-processor package, which is now available for Siemens’ Sinumerik 828D and 840D sl controllers, which work with a range of four-axis and five-axis mills.

Benefits Increased productivity. The post processor offers a number of capabilities, including support for high-speed settings, optimized multi-axis toolpath and a cutting strategy to compensate for cutter wear.
