Hot Tip Sprue Cleaner The tips of these new flexible, hand-held tools from Mouldpro ApS, Ballerup, Denmark, heat up to 662 degrees Fahrenheit to melt away thermoplastics that have plugged up sprues and nozzles. To protect it from overheating, the cleaner is equipped with a timer shut-off. It includes three different copper tips to suit the application, a flexible arm, and a cord measuring more than 8 feet long.

Benefits Fast, convenient removal of clogs from hot sprue bushing and nozzle tips. Such components are expensive to replace, but the cleaner provides a quick way to return them to service. In some cases, technicians can even perform the process without removing the mold from the press. Compared with traditional methods, such as using acetylene torches, operating the cleaner is safer.
